Pawana Lake is a beautiful lake very close to Kamshet which is just 17 kms from the village and 20 kms from Lonavala Railway Station and is a great option for picnickers. Also known as Pawan Dam Reservoir or Pavana Lake. It is an artificial lake created by a dam on the backwaters of the Pavana River. The gorgeous view here, the camping experience is beyond words. With the vast expanse of the lake along with the raw natural beauty of the surrounding, the air is filled with serenity. Pavana is the largest lake in the region. One can get camping and glamping experience here.This site is more for lovers of solitude and has become a must visit for nature lovers. Pavana Lake is surrounded by hills and at the same time presents a very stunning camping site for the campers.


TREK TO TIKONA FORT


Kamshet is quite famous for the Tikona Fort trek in this region. Due to its location, Kamshet is very close to Tikona Fort. This triangular shaped fort is quite popular among trekkers and it offers splendid views of Pavana Dam, Kathinagad and Lohagarh from here. It takes an hour to climb up from Tikona Peth village.The fort is on top of a mountain and its shape is triangular as its name suggests. One can get spectacular views of Pavana Dam, Kathingad and Lohagarh from the trek. It takes about an hour to reach the fort from Tikona Peth village. The tracking is also easy with the difficulty level.


BOATING IN KAMSHET


Boating is a great option for those who do not want to indulge in any sporting activity. Enjoying the beautiful natural backdrop while boating makes for a pleasant experience. EXPLORING THE BEDSA CAVES


Bedsa Caves are located a short 30-minute drive from Kamshet. The Bedsa Caves are a group of Buddhist rock-cut formations whose origins have been traced back to the 1st century BC. Visiting the caves around sunrise is an experience, as they face east and the play of light in the arches presents an ethereal sight. In monsoon this place turns into a very attractive shade of green so whenever you plan a trip, definitely come here and present the trip of a lifetime. Known as Bedse Caves, these caves are a short distance away from Kamshet but very accessible. These caves date back to 60 BC and belong to the Satavahana period, due to which they have become the oldest caves in Maharashtra. The best carvings are seen here and there are also 25 feet high pillars. The main cave here is the Chaitya cave with a prayer hall. There is another cave called Vihara or Math. Morning visit here is wonderful as one can witness the spectacular sunrise here.

There are Vadeshwar, Kondeshwar and Sangameshwar temples in Kamshet. Each temple is steeped in history and presents ancient architecture which is awe-inspiring. Every year thousands of devotees come here to visit these temples. All these temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva and during Mahashivratri this place is full of tourists.


KAYAKING IN KAMSHET


Kamshet is a very popular place for water sports lovers. Kayaking is arranged at Andra Lake. In Kamshet, groups of people are sent on kayaks to ride the waves and experience nature up close. Swimming in the lake is also allowed here but only under the supervision and guidance of professional instructors. There are many camps here that provide kayaking facilities to the people.
