How to get started with Unbounce (Easy Guide)



Unbounce is the most popular – and our personal favourite – tool for creating landing pages, popups, and sticky bars. Essentially, it allows you to perform the things you need to do to improve conversion rates without having to struggle with WordPress designs or coding by hand.


Unbounce is mostly used for enterprise B2B landing pages, but it’s also useful for eCommerce merchants, subscription software providers, and small enterprises.

Unbounce Overview

Unbounce is a fantastic tool for creating customised landing pages. It’s something we utilise all the time with Google Search ads, display ads, sponsored placements, direct buys, and even conference applications.

The first thing you should do with Unbounce is create a domain. Instead of using a generic domain, the builder will be able to launch pages with suitable branding. ( is used.)


Connecting your domain to Unbounce is simple if you use WordPress. It’s nothing more than a WordPress plugin. After installing the plugin, go to Unbounce and select Add a Domain to complete the brief process.


(One thing to keep in mind is whether or not you use www in the wizard.) This will result in an error with little to no explanation. Make sure it matches the style of your website.)


You’ll need to create a subdomain for Unbounce if you’re not using WordPress. or are typical examples. Keep things brief and straightforward.


After that, go to Unbounce and select Add a Domain, then input your subdomain. It will provide you with CNAME instructions to enter into your DNS. Again, it’s quite straightforward.

Make your pages into groups. Whether you have two pages open or 250, like we do, this will help you keep organised. Sort them into campaigns or media. Don’t make it a free-for-all and rely solely on the names of your pages.


Create a master page dedicated just to styles. Do not distribute this. Use it as a resource for future pages instead. Style your headlines, form, and body content whatever you like. This way, you can quickly check afterwards to make sure everything is in order. (A no-CSS function Object() { [native code] } has one disadvantage.)


Obtain early authentication for your tools. Get your API key if you use Campaign Monitor for email. The same goes for your Salesforce OAuth2 connection, HubSpot Hub ID, Zoho Authtoken, and any other credentials. This isn’t something you want to accomplish page by page.


Prepare your users. Users are now included in all Unbounce plans. For version control and auditing purposes, it’s recommended generating accounts for everyone you plan to use the system.


Put your own scripts here. This is done in Domains, then the three dots to the right. You’ll put Google Analytics and other domain-wide JavaScript snippets here. (For example, you could implement smooth-scrolling anchors.) This is where you should click:


How to Building Your Unbounce Pages?

Unbounce’s charm is how simple it makes creating landing pages. There are three different methods to begin.


To get started, go to the header and click “Create New”:


If this is your first time using Unbounce, we recommend starting with the Training Template. This tutorial will walk you through the fundamentals of utilising sections, altering text, and adding photos, among other things.


You can start with one of the platform’s 98 prebuilt templates. These are a touch limiting, but if you’re doing something fairly common, they’re an excellent starting place. (Keep in mind that prebuilt templates always appear better in demo mode than in reality.)


Finally, you have the option of selecting Blank Page. Approximately 95% of our Unbounce landing page constructions begin this way. This is the way to go once you’ve gotten the hang of the platform.


Important material or information should not be placed on the right side of your website. To adapt to mobile devices, Unbounce does not utilise a completely “fluid” responsive grid. Instead, it features a single 600px break point. In other words, it will display your desktop version in a browser that is 601 pixels wide. When a browser is smaller than 1,000 pixels, elements on the extreme right side of the screen are frequently buried. Keep it on the left if it matters.


Check your connections again. Unbounce allows you to transmit leads to almost any system. It’s so simple, though, that you may overlook it, particularly if you’re just getting started with Unbounce. Make sure you’re emailing them to yourself at the very least, and always include a failsafe.


In Photoshop, tint your photos. Unbounce allows you to apply overlays to photos, such as darkening them to put text over them. This should be avoided. The overlay loads independently of the picture, resulting in a bad user experience. This should be done in Photoshop.


Optimize your photographs. Unbounce will not handle this for you, and excessively huge JPGs and PNGs will slow down your sites. Optimizilla is a good choice for this. Simply run your photographs through the programme, get the smaller copies, and use them as usual.
